Schalke Injury Update: Gosens and Karaman Return to Training

FC Schalke 04 head into the new Bundesliga season with a welcome dose of good news from the treatment room.

New signing Robin Gosens was back in the thick of it on Wednesday, taking part in large parts of full team training on 12 August. The summer arrival had suffered a thigh injury in the friendly against Hessen Kassel at the start of the month, briefly stalling his start in royal blue. Now, his recovery is clearly moving in the right direction.

The mood brightened further with captain Kenan Karaman also returning to the pitch. He is back in training after picking up a pelvic contusion in the test against Atalanta on 8 August, an awkward knock that threatened to disrupt his pre-season rhythm but has eased quickly enough for him to rejoin his teammates.

Not everyone is back yet. Junior Dina Ebimbe continues to work away from the group, still training individually and needing a little more time before he can be reintegrated into full squad sessions.

With the season drawing closer, Schalke’s injury picture is clearing – just not completely.
