Richard Kone Faces Another Injury Setback
Richard Kone’s frustrating season took another worrying turn on Monday as the QPR striker lasted less than half an hour for the club’s development side before being forced off injured.
The 23-year-old, who finished last season as QPR’s leading scorer, has struggled to get going this term. He has made only four first-team appearances so far and is still waiting for his first goal of the campaign.
Kone had been working his way back from an injury suffered against Middlesbrough on 5 September and was given a chance to build fitness against Bolton’s Under-21s. It was meant to be a step forward.
Instead, it brought another setback.
After a strong challenge, Kone was left in clear discomfort and eventually limped out of the game, cutting short his comeback outing as Bolton’s youngsters went on to win 3-1.
The exact nature of the problem has not yet been confirmed, leaving QPR to wait and hope that their main marksman from last season is not facing another extended spell on the sidelines.
