Quinn Sullivan Earns USMNT Call-Up as Union's Teenage Star

The wait is over for Quinn Sullivan.

The 16-year-old Philadelphia Union midfielder will be among the 26 players called up by Mauricio Pochettino for a four-game U.S. friendly slate running from Sept. 26 to Oct. 6, a reward for a blistering stretch of form that has dragged a once-stuttering Union side firmly into the playoff picture.

Philadelphia have not lost a league match since the World Cup. That’s not a coincidence. Sullivan has grown from promising prospect to central pillar in that run, driving a revitalized attack and injecting energy into a side that looked flat earlier in the season.

This isn’t a bolt from the blue for U.S. Soccer. Sullivan has been woven into the U.S. Youth National Team pathway for years, first pulling on the shirt at U-15 level and progressing steadily through the age groups. Coaches have tracked his rise closely; now he steps into the senior conversation.
