Health Scare for Musiala as Bayern Defeats Heidenheim

Jamal Musiala gave Bayern Munich another worrying moment on Tuesday, feeling unwell for the second time in four days during a pre-season friendly.

The 21-year-old came off the bench around the hour mark in Bayern’s 4-2 win over Heidenheim. Within four minutes, he was on the turf, clearly in distress. Players from both sides quickly formed a protective circle around him as medical staff sprinted on.

The scene was tense, but this time ended with a measure of relief. After treatment, Musiala was able to leave the pitch on his feet, walking off under his own power.

This wasn’t an isolated incident. On Saturday, in the closing stages of the friendly against RB Leipzig, the Germany international had already alarmed Bayern when he again reported feeling unwell shortly after coming on. He sat down on the pitch and required assistance from several emergency responders.

Concern spread quickly that day, with team-mates, including Ismael Saibari, visibly anxious as staff attended to him. Eventually, Musiala was able to leave the field without help, easing fears inside the Bayern camp.

Sporting director Max Eberl tried to calm the situation after the Leipzig match, offering a brief update but few details.

“He is doing well now. And that is the most important thing. Beyond that, we cannot say too much about it yet,” Eberl told Sport1.

Musiala has not yet spoken publicly about the two incidents or the cause of his discomfort.

Bayern now head into Saturday’s German Super Cup clash with Borussia Dortmund with a fresh layer of uncertainty. The result will matter, as it always does against Dortmund. But all eyes will first turn to Musiala and whether one of Bayern’s key creative forces is ready – and fully fit – for the first real test of their season.
