Mohamed Salah's Hat-Trick Dominates Galatasaray
Mohamed Salah stole the spotlight with a ruthless hat-trick as Trabzonspor dismantled a Victor Osimhen-less Galatasaray 4-0 on Saturday.
Osimhen had trained away from the main group during the week, a glimmer of hope for Galatasaray fans desperate to see their star striker back from injury. He never made it. His absence loomed large. And Salah filled the void with a performance that tore the visitors apart.
The tone was set almost instantly. After just four minutes, Salah picked up the ball deep and surged forward on a stunning 80-metre run. He simply kept going. Galatasaray’s back line kept retreating. Salah finished the move himself, opening the scoring with a breakaway goal that sucked the air out of the away side.
Galatasaray never truly recovered from that early blow.
Trabzonspor sensed weakness and played through their Egyptian talisman at every opportunity. The second goal again flowed through Salah, who found space and lifted his head at the perfect moment. He slid a precise pass across the penalty area to Noah Saviolo, arriving on cue. Saviolo swept his finish back across goal, the end product of a crisp, flowing team move that carved Galatasaray open.
The pressure kept building. Just before the interval, Salah struck again. His sixth league goal of the season put Trabzonspor into cruise control and left Galatasaray chasing shadows, their defensive structure shredded and their attacking threat blunted without Osimhen to lead the line.
Any faint hope of a late response disappeared as the clock wound down and Salah went hunting his hat-trick. With 10 minutes remaining, he completed it, sealing a dominant personal display and a statement victory for Trabzonspor.
Frustration boiled over on the Galatasaray bench. Manager Okan Buruk saw red in the closing stages, sent off after a furious reaction on the touchline that summed up his team’s night: outplayed, outpaced and overrun by Salah at full throttle.
