Fridolina Rolfö to Miss 2026/27 Season Due to Pregnancy

Manchester United will be without Fridolina Rolfö for the entire 2026/27 campaign after the Swedish forward announced she is expecting a baby.

Rolfö was absent from United’s WSL opening-day defeat away to London City Lionesses last Friday, and has since shared the news of her pregnancy with her teammates.

The announcement is a significant personal milestone for the 30-year-old, but it leaves Eva Olid planning a season – and likely the early stages of the 2027/28 campaign – without one of her most versatile attacking options. United will need to navigate a major chunk of their project without a player signed to change games across the front line.

The timeline is familiar at Carrington. Last season, fellow winger Celin Bizet Dønnum revealed she was pregnant after playing her final match in October 2025 and has yet to return to first-team action. Rolfö now joins her on the sidelines, underlining how much of United’s wide threat has been removed in a short space of time.

For Olid, it means another reshuffle, another hole to plug on the flanks. For United’s opponents, it removes a name from the teamsheet that always demanded attention.
