Edo Queens Aim for Perfect Finish Against Ampem Darkoa Ladies

Edo Queens may already have one foot in the semi-finals, but Kennedy Boboye has no intention of easing off the throttle in their final WAFU B Women’s Champions League group game against Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

Two wins from two have carried the Nigerian champions safely into the last four. For many coaches, that would be the cue to rotate heavily, protect stars, and coast through matchday three.

Not Boboye.

The head coach insists he will still send out a strong side and expects maximum commitment from every player available.

“We don’t have any player to rest; it’s only one of our defenders who was ruled out of the tournament due to a head injury,” he said ahead of the clash, underlining the intensity he wants to maintain.

One enforced absentee, but no passengers.

Boboye stressed that the entire squad remains on standby and fully engaged in the campaign.

“All the players in the squad will come out and play when needed, and they will surely give their all to the team,” he added, making it clear that competition for places will not drop just because progression is already secured.

The stakes justify that stance. The winner of the WAFU B Women’s Champions League earns a coveted ticket to the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, a stage where Edo Queens believe they belong.

With that prize looming, there is little room for complacency — even in a dead rubber on paper.
