Sarr’s situation is particularly notable. He has been the subject of transfer interest from Liverpool, but Sage made it clear the winger’s omission is down to injury, not speculation. The Palace boss explained that Sarr is dealing with groin pain and is currently working in individual sessions, unable to train with the group.

The positive news for the home side is the presence of Axel Disasi. The Chelsea loanee is expected to be involved, and Sage has already been impressed by what he has seen. Disasi only had his first session with the squad today, but the manager believes the defender’s experience will add composure and authority to the group.

City Without Doku, Eyes on Bouaddi
