Barcelona's 23-Man Squad for La Liga Clash Against Racing Santander

Hansi Flick has nailed his colours to the mast for Wednesday night.

Barcelona have announced a 23-man squad for their La Liga clash with Racing Santander at the Spotify Camp Nou, as the Catalans look to keep their perfect league start alive under the lights at 9:30pm Spanish time.

Two big names remain out of the picture: Ronny Bardghji and Frenkie de Jong are still unavailable. Flick, though, has responded by doubling down on his main weapons rather than rotating heavily.

The squad list reads like a statement of intent.

Goalkeepers

Between the posts, he calls on Joan García, Szczęsny and Dominik Livaković.

Defenders

In front of them, a defensive unit built to dominate territory: João Cancelo, Alejandro Balde, Pau Cubarsí, Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen and Eric García all make the cut.

Midfield

Midfield is where the control should come from. Gavi, Pedri, Fermín López, Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal are all included, with Dani Olmo offering that hybrid touch between lines.

Forwards

Up front, the options are explosive. Gabriel Jesus, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Karim Adeyemi, Roony and Hamza Abdelkarim give Flick pace, pressing and plenty of goals in his forward line.

The mood in the camp is understandably buoyant. Barcelona come into the game on the back of a 4-2 win over Levante, a match lit up by Lamine Yamal, who struck twice and looked unplayable for long spells. Marc Casadó and Karim Adeyemi added the other goals as Barça extended their unbeaten run and tightened their grip on top spot, three points clear of Real Madrid.

Now Racing Santander walk into a stadium expecting another show. Flick has named the stars. The standard has been set. Can Barcelona keep that perfect start intact?
