Thomas Tuchel Predicts Harry Kane Will Join Elite 100-Goal Club for England Soon

Tuchel Confident Kane Will Reach 100 International Goals Soon

Thomas Tuchel believes Harry Kane is on track to join the exclusive group of players who have scored over 100 international goals. The England captain currently has 87 goals and Tuchel expects him to hit 100 within just 13 more appearances.

Kane’s recent goal in England’s 2-0 Nations League win against the Czech Republic put him eighth on the all-time international scoring list. Only legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Ali Daei have scored more than 100 times in men’s international football.

"He is closing in. He scored again. 13 goals left," Tuchel said about Kane’s quest for 100 goals. When asked if he truly expects Kane to reach that number, Tuchel added, "Thirteen matches. You will not get another Harry Kane, first of all. He is the highest level of goalscorer."

England Faces a Long Wait for a Successor

Tuchel also warned that finding a replacement for Kane won’t be easy. While Kane remains in excellent form, having scored consecutively against Spain and Czech Republic recently, Tuchel suggested it might take a decade before England finds another player of his caliber.

"There will be someone else but it will not be Harry or a copy of Harry. We will find a solution when it comes to it but maybe not me. It might be another 10 years," Tuchel remarked.

Kane Focused on the Present

Despite the hype, Kane stays grounded about his milestone chase. He surpassed Wayne Rooney’s previous England record of 53 goals three years ago and is about to earn his 124th cap against Croatia. Last season, Kane scored 73 goals for Bayern Munich and is seen as a strong contender for the upcoming Ballon d’Or.

"I don’t like to think too far ahead, but of course, it’s getting closer. 100 goals for the national team would be something special without a doubt," Kane said. "It still feels like yesterday I just broke the record and I was away in Italy getting that one. The seasons come and they go quickly, so I just enjoy being out there with the boys on the pitch, wearing the Three Lions shirt and that won’t change."

Building on Recent Success

After scoring again in the latest match, Kane spoke about his role beyond just scoring goals. He enjoys finding the net but also contributes to build-up play, passing, and switching the attack to help his team.

"The striker’s job is to score goals first and foremost, and I know that, and I love doing that. It’s still the best feeling there is," Kane explained. "Sometimes I’ll touch the ball a lot and be the difference in maybe build-up or passing or switching play."

Despite England’s win, Kane pointed out areas where the team can improve, particularly with final passes and crosses.

"The final product has to be perfect and I don’t think it was quite there. I still think we can improve in that sense, with the final cross or the final through ball. But in the end, a win’s a win. I’ve been around long enough in the team where sometimes you just have to win the game and move on and tonight was one of those," Kane concluded.
