Alex Pereira Hints at Huge UFC Fight Ahead: ‘Big Challenge’

Alex Pereira Signals Major UFC Fight Incoming

Alex Pereira, a top UFC star, revealed he faces a "big challenge" soon, hinting at exciting fight news for his next Octagon appearance. Pereira hasn’t stepped into the cage since June, when he suffered a TKO defeat to Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250, missing out on the interim heavyweight title.

Despite that setback, Pereira is eager to return and mentioned the UFC has a major challenge lined up for him.

Pereira’s Tease on Social Media

Sharing on Instagram, Pereira said, "It’s coming. Good news, that’s right, a big challenge. Like I told you, if I hadn’t taken risks in all my fights I wouldn’t be who I am today."

Who Might Be Next?

The most logical opponent seems to be Sergei Pavlovich, known for his knockout power, making this potential bout a striker's dream. Both fighters pack tremendous power, promising a thrilling showdown likely to end in a knockout.

If Pereira overcomes Pavlovich or whoever this "big challenge" turns out to be, he could earn a shot against the victor of UFC 334’s heavyweight title clash between Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit.

Former UFC light heavyweight and middleweight champ Pereira aims to become the first fighter in UFC history to claim titles in three divisions. That ambition led him to vacate his 205-pound belt and move up to heavyweight.

Though his first fight with Gane didn’t go his way, a win against Pavlovich or another big challenge might set the stage for a 2027 rematch with Gane.
