Tegan Bowie Leaves Hibernian for Parma Calcio

Tegan Bowie’s Hibernian story is over. The next chapter plays out in Italy.

The 22-year-old winger has completed a permanent move to Serie A side Parma Calcio after the Italian club activated a release clause in her contract, sealing a deal for an undisclosed fee and ending one of Hibs’ most compelling recent development tales.

From academy prospect to title winner

Bowie’s departure cuts through the heart of Hibernian’s project. A product of the club’s academy, she left Edinburgh for Celtic earlier in her career before returning to Hibs in 2023. That second spell turned her from promising youngster into a central pillar of the side.

She didn’t just fill a shirt. She drove a title charge.

Across 101 appearances for Hibs, Bowie scored nine goals, but the raw numbers only tell part of the story. In the 2024-25 title-winning campaign, she hit five goals and laid on 10 assists, a consistent source of width, energy and incision from the flank as Hibs pushed themselves over the line.

When Hibs needed tempo, she provided it. When they needed a spark, she often lit it.

A clause that finally bit

Head coach Joelle Murray did not hide the mixed emotions. The move was not born from a desire to cash in, but from a contractual reality that finally came into play.

"I'm disappointed to see Tegan leave under a clause that was in her contract from summer 2025," Murray told club media, a single line that says plenty about how highly the staff valued her.

Murray has watched Bowie grow from talented returnee to on-field leader.

"She's grown and developed massively during her time at the club, both as a player and a person.

"I wish her nothing but success as she takes on this new challenge in a new country with a new team. Hopefully she can continue that incredible personal growth next season and beyond."

The tone is clear: this is not a player Hibs wanted to lose. This is a player they were powerless to keep.

A winger ready for a new stage

For Bowie, the move is both reward and test. Parma are betting on a wide player whose game has been sharpened by responsibility, not sheltered from it. She has already shown she can carry expectation in a title race; now she steps into a different footballing culture, with new demands and a fresh spotlight.

Bowie’s own words underline how much Hibs have shaped her.

"I've gotten to experience some of my favourite memories with this team and being able to have the freedom to express myself on the pitch has helped me in my development," she said.

That freedom has taken her to Serie A. The question now is how far it can take her in Italy.
