When forwards fail to capitalize, Gravenberch’s contributions can be overlooked. Hamann noted, "If they lose the ball after a good pass, no one blames the midfielder. But if the forwards don’t perform, questions arise about what he actually did." He acknowledged that both Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister had off moments but praised Gravenberch’s power, vision, and defensive awareness.

"If Liverpool wants to regain its former heights, which will be difficult this season, they definitely need him," Hamann added.

In 2026, Gravenberch represented the Netherlands at the World Cup in North America. He started Liverpool’s first match of the 2026-27 season against Newcastle but was a substitute for 19 minutes in their recent 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.
