Romelu Lukaku's Future: Fenerbahce Offer Resurfaces

Romelu Lukaku’s future has swung back toward Istanbul once more.

The Belgian striker, entering the final year of his deal at Napoli, has again been offered to Fenerbahce, according to fresh reports on Friday, as his camp searches for a way out of a stagnant situation in Italy. Saudi Arabian clubs have also joined the chase, adding another layer to a transfer story that refuses to settle.

At 33, Lukaku is no longer the centrepiece he once was. After a disappointing 2025–2026 campaign on a personal level, he is not expected to be Massimiliano Allegri’s first-choice striker when the new season kicks off. Napoli, aware of both his contract situation and his reduced role, are understood to be ready to listen to offers in the region of just €10 million for the veteran forward.

That price tag underlines the shift. This is Belgium’s all-time top scorer, a player who once commanded some of the biggest fees in European football, now potentially available for a fraction of those sums. Yet his departure from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona still hasn’t moved beyond theory. No agreement, no advanced talks, just a growing sense that all parties need a solution.

In recent days, Lukaku has also been linked with a move to MLS side Atlanta United, a possible American chapter for a career that has already taken him through England, Italy, and beyond. The United States offers profile and comfort, Saudi Arabia offers money and a fast-growing league, but Turkey keeps reappearing in the script.

On Friday, that Turkish route came sharply back into focus. Doruk Tigemer, correspondent for the “TRT Spor” network, reported that Lukaku has once again been offered to Fenerbahce. This is not a new flirtation. His name was put to the Istanbul giants during the winter transfer window, then resurfaced about a month ago, and now it is back on the table yet again.

Fenerbahce, rebuilding and always under pressure to deliver immediate success, know exactly what a fit and focused Lukaku could bring: presence, goals, and a statement of intent. For now, though, the story has not moved beyond proposals and intermediaries. According to the same reports, there have been no official negotiations between Fenerbahce and Napoli, nor between the Turkish club and the player’s representatives.

So the offer hangs there, waiting. Napoli are ready to sell, the player is hunting a new club, and multiple markets are circling. The question is simple: who will actually step forward and turn this long-running saga into a done deal?
