According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Istanbul club have put a huge offer on the table for Rafael Leao, one that underlines just how desperate they are to finally rip the Süper Lig title away from Galatasaray.

The proposal is bold. Fenerbahce are said to be ready to hand Leao a net salary of eight million euros per season on a five-year deal. On top of that, the winger would be able to trigger three separate annual bonuses:

• 1.5 million euros if he makes more than 20 appearances
• 1.5 million euros if he scores 15 goals
• 1 million euros if Fenerbahce win the Süper Lig

Stack it all together and the numbers tell their own story. Fenerbahce are not just interested; they are all-in on the Portuguese forward. The report states they are also prepared to pay a 50 million euro fee to Milan to make the transfer happen.

The urgency is easy to understand. Fenerbahce have finished runners-up in each of the last four seasons and have not lifted the league trophy since 2014. The frustration has been simmering for years.
