The groundwork for this surge has been laid all summer. Technical director Earnest Stewart had already moved early in the window to bring in Sven Mijnans from AZ for €13 million, strengthening the heart of midfield. That deal hinted at PSV’s intent. The double swoop for Sano and Kostic underlines it.
