PSG Focuses on Maghnes Akliouche Over Michael Olise

Paris Saint-Germain have made their choice. Michael Olise will not be coming to the Parc des Princes this summer – not because they doubt his talent, but because their gaze is fixed on what they believe is the next version of him.

Inside the club, the answer is blunt. According to reporting in L’Équipe, a source close to the talks insists PSG are not looking for this Michael Olise. They are looking for “the next Michael Olise.”

Akliouche Deal in the Home Straight

That philosophy has a name: Maghnes Akliouche.

The Monaco attacking midfielder, already highly regarded in France’s youth setup, has been identified as one of the players on that Olise-like trajectory. The same report states that a deal for Akliouche is “in its final stages,” with what is described as a three-way determination from PSG, Monaco and the player’s camp to close the move quickly.

The logic is clear. PSG believe they have built a delicate, increasingly coherent attacking structure and do not want to smash it apart with a blockbuster deal. Bayern’s price for Olise, after beating Madrid to his signature, would be eye-watering. Inside PSG, the idea of entering that kind of bidding war has been branded a “nightmare.”

So they are betting on timing. Rather than overpaying for a finished article, they want to catch the next wave early, fold it into Luis Enrique’s system, and grow it in-house. Akliouche fits that profile: technically gifted, versatile, and still young enough to be moulded.
