Paris Saint-Germain Target Mika Godts After Akliouche Signing

Paris Saint-Germain are refusing to lift their foot off the accelerator this summer. Fresh from dropping €50 million on Norwegian forward Magnus Akliouche, the French champions have opened official talks with Ajax for one of the most explosive young wingers in Europe: Mika Godts.

The 21-year-old Belgian has just completed a breakout season in Amsterdam, racking up 17 goals and 15 assists in 44 games in all competitions. Those numbers have not gone unnoticed in Paris. According to Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, PSG have now contacted Ajax to begin negotiations over a deal.

Campos moves directly for his man

PSG have not limited themselves to club-to-club conversations. Sporting advisor Luis Campos went straight to the player, holding what have been described as “very fruitful” talks with Godts.

The meeting appears to have shifted the landscape. Godts, impressed by the project laid out in front of him, made clear his desire to join PSG. That stance hands the French side a powerful card as they sit down with Ajax, who suddenly find themselves trying to protect an asset who wants out.

For PSG, it is a classic Campos move: identify a rising talent before he hits the absolute elite bracket, sell him on a central role in a young, aggressive project, and then lean on the player’s will to force a deal over the line.

Ajax cornered by their own success

Ajax had planned to build around Godts after his breakout campaign. Now they are dealing with the downside of their own model. Develop, showcase, and then, more often than not, sell.

The Dutch club would prefer to keep him, but they are fully aware of his wish to move to Paris. That knowledge changes the tone of negotiations. The question is no longer whether Godts leaves, but on what terms and for what fee.

If the talks progress at the current pace, PSG could secure a rapid attacking reinforcement, which would suit them perfectly at a time when uncertainty surrounds the future of Bradley Barcola. The French winger has drawn interest from several Premier League giants, and PSG do not intend to be caught short in wide areas.

Plan B after missing out on Diomande

Godts is not just an opportunistic move. His pursuit follows PSG’s failure to close a deal for Ivorian winger Yan Diomande, a name that had been repeatedly linked with the club in recent days.

Diomande is now expected to join Real Madrid, leaving PSG to pivot quickly. Rather than dwell on a missed target, the French champions have switched focus to another young wide player with end product and room to grow.

For Real Madrid, Diomande would be one more weapon out wide in a squad already built to compete for every trophy available. For PSG, Godts could become the equivalent: a fresh, fearless option on the flank in a team being reshaped to dominate at home and finally break through in Europe.

If Ajax and PSG can find common ground, the summer rebuild in Paris will add another bold stroke – and another signal that the champions of France intend to reload, not retreat.
