Morgan Gibbs-White Called Up to England Squad as Cole Palmer Withdraws

Morgan Gibbs-White has been summoned to join Thomas Tuchel's England squad, replacing Cole Palmer, who is stepping back due to load management concerns. The Nottingham Forest midfielder's inclusion was confirmed on Monday following Palmer's withdrawal.

At 26, Gibbs-White had been enjoying a family break in Dubai after playing in Forest’s 1-0 Premier League loss against Coventry City on Saturday. He has since returned to England and will link up with the squad ahead of the start of England's Nations League fixtures.

Despite an impressive season start and scoring 15 Premier League goals last season, Gibbs-White was not included in the original 27-man roster. He holds six caps for England, making his senior debut in September 2024.

Palmer’s Withdrawal and Recent Form

Palmer has decided to pull out after contributing four goals and two assists in seven appearances for Chelsea this campaign. He played the entire match in Chelsea's recent 3-0 defeat to Brentford on Friday.
