Mikey Moore Joins FC Koln on Loan After Impressive Season at Rangers
Mikey Moore, the Tottenham Hotspur winger, has secured a season-long loan deal with Bundesliga club FC Koln following a strong campaign at Rangers. The 19-year-old showed great promise last season in Scotland, scoring seven goals and assisting four times, and now looks to develop further in Germany’s top division during the 2026-27 season.
Standout Performances Lead to Bundesliga Opportunity
After an impressive 2025-26 season where he appeared 47 times for Rangers and earned the Young Player of the Year award, Moore is moving to Koln to gain consistent first-team experience. He has already played 21 senior matches for Spurs but aims to take his career forward by competing regularly in the Bundesliga.
FC Koln’s Sporting Director Praises Moore
Thomas Kessler, sporting director at Koln, expressed enthusiasm about signing the young winger. He said,
"Despite his young age, Mikey already displays remarkable maturity. He possesses excellent technical ability, is creative and bold in one-on-one situations, and consistently poses a threat in attack thanks to his dynamism and carefree style. His profile will expand our options in the final third and give us added versatility. We are convinced that he will take the next steps in his development with us."
Moore Excited About New Challenge
The winger admitted that the club’s clear interest and attacking style convinced him quickly. He commented,
"The club showed great interest right from the start. The talks with the management went really well; the prospect of playing in the Bundesliga here and the way the club wants to play made my decision an easy one."
He added his goals for the season:
"The team has got off to a great start. I watched both the cup matches and the game against Hoffenheim. I’m delighted to be here now - and I want to help the team by scoring as many goals and providing as many assists as possible, so that we can keep this up and have a good season."
Ready for Bundesliga Debut Against VfB Stuttgart
The 19-year-old is expected to make his Bundesliga debut when FC Koln face VfB Stuttgart on Friday. The team is coming into the match on a high after victories in both the DFB-Pokal and the league. Moore will join fellow English players Reigan Heskey and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey in a potent attack aiming to maintain their perfect start.
