Mason Greenwood has turned his back on Saudi Arabia – but not on a move away from Marseille.

The 24-year-old forward, as reported by Sacha Tavolieri, has rejected lucrative offers from Al Ahli, Al Qadsiah and Al Diriyah this summer, closing the door on a switch to the Gulf despite serious financial temptation. His future, though, still lies away from the Vélodrome.

After two seasons at Olympique de Marseille, Greenwood is expected to leave the club. Local outlet La Provence report that he has already handed back the keys to his house in Aix, a small but telling detail that underlines how advanced his departure feels. The chapter in the south of France is all but written.

Potential Destinations

The destination is where the story gets interesting.

According to L’Équipe, Greenwood has reached an agreement on personal terms with Fenerbahce. The Turkish side have moved decisively on the player’s side of the deal, positioning themselves at the front of the queue. The sticking point sits elsewhere: Fenerbahce and OM have yet to find common ground on a transfer fee.
