Liverpool's Bold €115 Million Bid for PSG's Barcola

Liverpool have stepped directly into Paris Saint-Germain’s front line with a statement move for Bradley Barcola, lodging an offer worth around €115 million for the French winger, according to L’Equipe.

It is a bold opening shot. It is also unlikely to be enough.

PSG are expected to reject the proposal as they continue to hold out for a fee north of €150m for one of their most valuable assets. The French champions have long insisted Barcola is not for sale. The problem for them now is that the player no longer shares that view.

Barcola turns towards Anfield

That tournament form, on top of his club achievements, has only strengthened PSG’s negotiating position. They can point to a Champions League winner and a World Cup goalscorer who is still years away from his peak.

Liverpool, though, see the same thing – and are moving now, before the price and competition climb even higher.
