Juventus Eye Loan Move for Zion Suzuki from PSG Ahead of Alisson Becker Signing
Juventus are preparing to bring in Zion Suzuki on a one-year loan from Paris Saint-Germain. This move serves as a short-term fix while they wait to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker on a free transfer in 2026.
PSG Secures Suzuki Transfer
Reports from Italy and France reveal that PSG is finalizing Suzuki's transfer from Parma Calcio 1913. The deal is valued at around €30 million, with an additional €5 million tied to performance bonuses. Despite acquiring him, PSG plans not to use Suzuki this season but instead loan him directly to Juventus for a year.
This approach might seem unusual for Juventus, but sources say the club views Suzuki as a temporary solution while targeting Alisson’s future arrival.
Spalletti Focuses on Familiar Goalkeeper
Luciano Spalletti, Juventus' manager, has been searching for a new goalkeeper all summer. While negotiations with Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez took place, Spalletti's main interest remains with Alisson. The two worked together at Roma, where Alisson appeared 64 times and kept 26 clean sheets.
Earlier this year, Alisson showed willingness to join Juventus even if it meant giving up Champions League football. Despite mutual interest and Alisson’s attraction to Juventus’ rebuilding project, Liverpool refused to sell him during the current transfer window.
Liverpool Blocks Immediate Sale
With Liverpool standing firm, Juventus plans to wait for Alisson’s contract to expire in June 2027 before making a move. Alisson has played 333 games for Liverpool, earning 140 clean sheets and winning two league titles and a Champions League trophy.
Manager Andoni Iraola emphasized Alisson’s importance: "I believe he will be an extremely important element in helping new players adapt, whether experienced or young. We need role models like Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, and Joe Gomez who have spent many years at the club."
Looking Ahead
Once the loan agreement is finalized, Juventus will integrate Suzuki into their squad for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Alisson remains a key figure for Liverpool as they prepare for their opener against Newcastle United. Juventus will monitor his situation closely, aiming to secure a pre-contract agreement before 2027.
- Loan Deal: Zion Suzuki from PSG to Juventus for one year
- Transfer Fee: Approximately €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons (PSG to Parma)
- Alisson Contract End: June 2027
- Alisson Appearances for Liverpool: 333
- Clean Sheets for Liverpool: 140
- Major Honors with Liverpool: Two league titles, one Champions League trophy
- Alisson International Caps for Brazil: 83
