Juventus and Inter Milan Explore Frattesi–Gonzalez Swap Deal

Juventus and Inter Milan are testing the ground for a swap deal that would send Davide Frattesi to Turin and Nicolas Gonzalez to Milan, with both clubs probing whether an exchange can solve two problems at once.

This is not a casual enquiry. Juventus have tracked Frattesi for a long time, seeing the midfielder as a natural fit for their rebuild and a player Luciano Spalletti trusts and knows how to use. Inside the club, there is a clear belief that he would lift the technical level of the squad and give the coach a piece he already understands.

On the other side of the table, Inter have zeroed in on Gonzalez as they search for another winger to deepen their attacking options. The Argentinian has grown into a reliable, high-impact wide player over recent seasons, and at Inter he is viewed as someone who can immediately raise the bar in the final third.

Talks underway

According to Calciomercato, the two clubs have opened discussions built around Frattesi and Gonzalez, exploring a structure that would satisfy both sporting directors and, crucially, both balance sheets. Juventus are pushing to hand Spalletti a player he is convinced he can maximise. Inter, for their part, see Gonzalez as the right profile to refresh their wing department.

The same report underlines why Gonzalez is firmly on the market. The winger impressed during his loan spell at Atletico Madrid last season, reinforcing his status as a player ready for a top role. At the same time, he has made it clear he does not want to wear the Juventus shirt again. That stance points towards a definitive separation, and a permanent move – including via a swap – now looks the most logical way out for everyone, if the numbers line up.

Valuations at the heart of the deal

That is where the negotiation becomes delicate. Juventus are expected to move cautiously, fully aware that Frattesi and Gonzalez do not sit at the same market value. Any agreement would need to mirror that difference, whether through a cash adjustment, bonuses, or a carefully weighted valuation on both sides.

The Bianconeri want favourable terms, not just a clean exit for Gonzalez. They will push to ensure that, if they surrender a winger who no longer sees his future in Turin, they are properly compensated by the arrival of a midfielder they have been targeting for some time, potentially with extra money on top.

Inter, meanwhile, know they are operating from a position of need out wide. That urgency makes Gonzalez an attractive solution, but it also forces them to measure every euro in a deal that would cost them Frattesi, a player with strong upside and clear admirers across the league.
