Ipswich Town Unveils 2026/27 Premier League Kits

Portman Road under lights. That’s the image Ipswich Town have chosen to bottle for their 2026/27 Premier League home kit – and they’ve gone all in on it.

The new home shirt, unveiled today, carries an embossed graphic that traces the distinctive pattern formed by the structures between the floodlights on the Sir Bobby Robson and Sir Alf Ramsey Stands. It’s a very specific piece of Portman Road architecture, turned into fabric, running right through the body of the shirt.

A navy trim sharpens the neckline and sleeves, while white side panels cut down the shirt and bleed into a blue side trim on the white shorts. The socks stay traditional: blue, finished with a white-and-blue turnover. It’s familiar Ipswich blue, but dressed with a bit more theatre.

A 90s echo on the road

The away kit reaches back three decades. Town have nodded to the much-loved 1996–98 cream and black “Abbot Ale” strip, but twisted the design rather than simply recreating it.

This time, horizontal red and black stripes replace the solid vertical black of the original. The badge follows suit, stripped of its usual colours and reimagined in red and black, just as it was on that late-90s shirt. The rest of the kit stays dark: black shorts, black socks, each finished with a cream turnover that ties it back to its inspiration.

Both home and away shirts carry main sponsor Halo across the chest, with Ed Sheeran’s Play tour logo on the sleeve, continuing the now-familiar link between the club and one of its most famous supporters.

Umbro produce the strips for a fifth straight year, but this looks like the end of that particular run. Town are expected to switch kit supplier next summer, with Nike strongly tipped to take over. A third kit will follow once the new season is underway.

New shirts, old values

Town have used the fanfare around the launch for more than just sales. The club has made a significant donation aimed at boosting grassroots football across Suffolk, offering every club in the county a grant towards their youth team kit for the coming season.

Representatives from around 40 local clubs who have already taken up the offer were at Portman Road for the unveiling, joined by first-team players from both the men’s and women’s sides. It turned a standard kit launch into a showcase of the wider football community that feeds into the club.

On sale and in demand

The full range is now available online and at Planet Blue, with men’s, women’s and youth sizes all stocked. Adult shirts run from S up to 5XL, while the women’s fit spans sizes 8 to 20. Children’s mini-kits are also on sale.

Planet Blue opens from 3.15pm to 8pm today, then 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. The new shirts will also be available at the Halo Festival at Trinity Park on Saturday.

One detail will have to wait. Shirt printing with names from the men’s and women’s squads will only begin once the club confirms squad numbers.

For now, the designs stand on their own – one rooted in the Portman Road floodlights, the other in a cherished 90s away strip – as Ipswich step into a new Premier League season dressed in a blend of memory, identity and ambition.
