Ilia Topuria Accuses Justin Gaethje After UFC Defeat

Ilia Topuria has broken his silence on social media with a sharp accusation directed at Justin Gaethje. This follows Topuria’s first professional loss in June when Gaethje handed him a tough defeat.

The Spanish-Georgian entered the UFC Freedom 250 event as the favorite, but things quickly turned against him. Aside from the second round, Gaethje dominated the fight thoroughly.

In the third round, Gaethje unleashed a brutal left-right combo that left Topuria badly cut and bloodied. The doctors appeared ready to stop the fight after this round due to the severity of the injuries.

Referee Marc Goddard chose to overrule the doctor's suggestion, citing concerns about Topuria’s vision as the reason for continuing. Eventually, Topuria's corner stopped the fight, resulting in a TKO victory for Gaethje.

Following the win, Gaethje was celebrated in the Octagon by then-President Donald Trump, who was hosting the event in honor of his 80th birthday and America’s 250th anniversary.

Topuria suffered non-displaced fractures in both orbital bones, with his right eye taking the worst damage. This facial injury means he faces higher risks of serious harm if hit again in the future. Still, Topuria is back and ready to compete once more.

Topuria’s Bold Statement and Allegation on X

After months of silence on X (formerly Twitter), the 29-year-old returned with an assertive message: "Final medical tests done. I’m back. To all the clowns who’ve been talking s*** and counting me out this whole time, here I am. Now let’s see who’s got the balls. Thanks to everyone for the support."

He added a striking claim: "Next time I’ll make sure they check Justin’s gloves so he doesn’t put anything weird on them. See you soon."

Gaethje Responds to the Gloves Accusation

Gaethje fired back swiftly, saying: "94 days and the best you could come up with is a lame excuse. As terrible as your last performance. Do better, kid."

Later, Gaethje addressed the allegation during a conversation with a fan on X, stating: "People don't believe that. I've done that to everybody's face that I fought. Am I willing to [rematch him]? I just beat the s*** out of him, of course I would. That's not the way to [try and get a rematch]."

Although Gaethje initially ruled out a rematch after their June fight, this recent exchange suggests another bout between them is unlikely, leaving Topuria to look for a new opponent.
