That figure, the Konyaspor representative stressed, is their final proposal to get the deal done. No more haggling. No more incremental raises. They want Ashour, and they are desperate to close it.

“Better than Mohamed Salah’s celebration”

The determination in Konya is not only financial. It is theatrical.

Through Shobier, the Konyaspor board member fired off a striking promise: the club plan to welcome Ashour and celebrate him “in a better way than what happened with Mohamed Salah” after the Egyptian star’s move to Trabzonspor.

That is a bold line in a country still buzzing from Salah’s switch to Trabzonspor, a move that triggered huge excitement, mass public receptions, and wall-to-wall coverage. To vow an even bigger party in Ashour’s honour is not just a sales pitch; it is a statement of intent about how central they see him to their project.

The message is clear: come here, and you will be the main event.

Scouted from Spain, no interest in the Gulf

Konyaspor’s interest is not casual. Shobier added that the Turkish club are tracking Ashour closely while Al-Ahly train at their camp in Spain, monitoring his situation and gathering information on his mindset.

That includes his stance on offers from the Gulf. On that front, there is no ambiguity. Shobier confirmed that Ashour has no desire to move to the Gulf at this stage of his career, shutting down one of the most lucrative alternative routes and sharpening the focus on Europe.

For Konyaspor, that is encouragement. For Al-Ahly, it is one more reason to brace for sustained pressure.

Inside Al-Ahly, the broader policy this summer is hardening, not softening.

Shobier underlined that the club do not want to lose any of their key players in this window, unless an offer arrives that is simply too big to refuse. Not good money. Not fair money. A huge bid that forces a decision.
