Chelsea Joins Premier League Elite for Matheus Fernandes

The Portugal international is expected to leave West Ham this summer after their relegation, and his situation has alerted three of the Premier League’s heavyweights. Chelsea’s interest drops them into a three-way tug-of-war with Arsenal and Manchester United, both of whom can offer Fernandes compelling projects of their own.

For Chelsea, signing Fernandes is only half the story. Funding a move of that size demands outgoings, and one of the names that could help finance it is Liam Delap. Konate off the table

Chelsea have also been linked with Ibrahima Konate, another defender attracting attention ahead of a possible summer move. Those links, though, are not expected to lead anywhere for the Blues. Konate may move, but not to Stamford Bridge.
