Liverpool have held talks with Barcola and his camp, and those discussions have already featured new head coach Andoni Iraola. That detail matters.

This is not just a recruitment department selling a spreadsheet. Iraola has been directly involved in shaping the sporting pitch, presenting the role, the system and the vision. From Barcola’s side, Merseyside is seen as the right next step: a club big enough to match his ambition, a league intense enough to sharpen his game, and a manager whose style could suit his pace and directness.

For Liverpool, he ticks every strategic box. Young. Proven at elite level. Able to play across the forward line. A winger who can stretch the pitch, carry the ball at speed and still has room to grow. He is the type of signing that can contribute immediately while being built around for years.

That is exactly the profile Liverpool have tried to live by in the market.
