Bayern Munich have set their sights on one of Liverpool’s brightest young talents, 17-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha, as the German champions test the resolve of a club determined not to sell.

The Bundesliga side have made enquiries over a possible move for the teenager, sounding out the conditions of a deal and the player’s situation. At this stage, though, the interest has not progressed to formal, face-to-face talks, and no agreement on personal terms is in place.

Ngumoha, currently in Florida on a preparation camp as a supplementary member of the England squad, is understood to be aware of Bayern’s admiration. His rise has been rapid, his profile growing with every appearance, and Europe has clearly taken note.
