Arsenal knocked. Juventus slammed the door.

The Premier League side sounded out a move for Kenan Yildiz as they hunt a new left winger, but The Athletic report that Juve’s response was blunt: the Turkish star is not for sale. With that avenue closed, Arsenal’s recruitment team has been pushed back into a market already swirling with big names and bigger fees.

Rafael Leao, Morgan Rogers and Marcus Rashford have all been floated as potential arrivals, a list that underlines the scale of change being considered at the Emirates. Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard could yet be sacrificed to reshape the forward line, a bold move for a club that came so close in recent title races.

Manchester United's Moves

While Arsenal’s search widens, Manchester United are working on a very different part of the squad. Alongside their midfield rebuild, United have turned to the No.2 goalkeeper market, preparing for life without Altay Bayindir, who is expected to move on.

The Athletic list Wolves’ Sam Johnstone and Karl Darlow, whose Leeds United contract expires at the end of the month, as live options. Both would tick the homegrown box as United gear up for a return to the Champions League, where squad rules and depth can make or break a campaign.

United’s attention does not stop there.

The club remain heavily involved in the chase for Elliot Anderson, despite Manchester City’s early lead. The Guardian report that United executives are confident they can beat City to the midfielder, even with the significant financial package required. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to be ready to meet Anderson’s wage demands, expected to be around £150,000 per week, a clear sign of how highly they rate him.

City, though, are not easing off. TalkSPORT claim the champions are preparing a second offer to Nottingham Forest and are willing to go beyond £80 million. Forest, for their part, are holding out for a fee in the triple figures. With Anderson set to start for England at the World Cup, a starring role on the biggest stage could harden that stance and push the valuation even higher.

Crystal Palace's Plans

While City’s gaze remains locked on Anderson, Crystal Palace are building for a very different European adventure.

Oliver Glasner’s side will need depth to cope with the Europa League, and Hayden Hackney has emerged as a serious target. The Middlesbrough midfielder would give Palace energy and control in the middle of the pitch, but his profile also makes one question whether he is being lined up as a possible successor to Adam Wharton.

No major club is currently in active talks for Hackney, yet the landscape can change quickly. Manchester United and Liverpool have both been linked in the past and remain in the market for midfield reinforcements. For now, though, Palace and Everton are at the front of the queue.

The Daily Mail report that Everton, initially Hackney’s preferred destination, have already seen two approaches rejected. Palace are now ready to move, with a package close to £20 million being prepared. That still falls short of Boro’s £25 million asking price, but Palace can offer something Everton cannot: European football. That factor alone may be enough to tilt the player’s thinking.

La Liga Rumors

At the top end of La Liga, another name is being passed between the giants.

Julian Alvarez has been linked with all three of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Atletico are his current club, yet there is a genuine prospect he could cross to Barcelona. Reports in Spain suggest Real Madrid could also enter the race, with Alvarez mentioned as the type of triple-figure signing Florentino Pérez craves.

His camp, though, have moved quickly to cool the noise. Agent Fernando Hidalgo told 365Scores: “We have no information on the matter, and no one has contacted us about it.” For now, the speculation runs ahead of the reality.

Marc Cucurella's Future

Back in England, Marc Cucurella looks set to draw a line under his Premier League chapter.

Marca report that the Chelsea defender is expected to leave in the summer, with a return to Spain on the table. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are said to be leading the chase, and Real Madrid could yet join the contest. Cucurella, who believes his time in England is over, has not shifted that stance even with Xabi Alonso’s arrival at Stamford Bridge.

A return to Barcelona would carry a certain symmetry. He spent eight years with the club, including several loan spells, without ever making a senior breakthrough. This time, the door would be opening for a very different player.

Marcus Rashford's Intentions

Marcus Rashford’s future, by contrast, is entangled in both finance and ambition.

The Sun report that Bayern Munich are willing to match Manchester United’s asking price but will not go near his current wage level. That might prove irrelevant. According to Marca, Rashford remains focused on a single destination: Barcelona. He is not entertaining other proposals, including from Vincent Kompany’s side, and is intent on a permanent move to Camp Nou.

Defensive Shake-Up

As Rashford looks to Spain, Manchester United are also eyeing a shock defensive shake-up.

Cristian Romero has emerged as a target, with Argentine journalist Gaston Edul claiming a bid from Old Trafford is being prepared. On paper, United appear well stocked at centre-back, yet Romero would inject a level of aggression and edge that their back line has often lacked.

Tottenham will not make that easy. As captain and defensive leader, Romero is central to their plans, and Spurs are expected to demand a higher fee from United than they would from Atletico Madrid or other foreign suitors. Selling to a direct Premier League rival always comes at a premium.

Across Europe, the same pattern repeats: big clubs circling the same names, prices climbing by the week, and players weighing money against minutes, status against stability. The window has barely opened, but the fault lines of the next season are already being drawn.
