Zinédine Zidane Named New France National Team Manager

The Fédération Française de Football confirmed that the successor to Didier Deschamps as manager of the France national team will be revealed on Tuesday, July 28. Everything suggests that Zinédine Zidane is the next head coach. A press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the FFF headquarters in Paris where Zidane will be formally introduced alongside FFF president Philippe Diallo.

Since stepping down from his role at Real Madrid in 2021, Zidane has been away from coaching. This appointment marks his return to international football, taking charge of one of the most prestigious roles in French soccer. Reports indicate he will sign a contract lasting four years, which would keep him at the helm through to the 2030 World Cup.

Zidane’s first match as France’s manager will be an away game against Turkey, scheduled for late September as part of the 2026-2027 UEFA Nations League campaign.
