World Cup 2026: Players Facing Suspension Threat for Semi-Finals Due to Yellow Cards

Nineteen players enter the quarter-finals of the World Cup 2026 carrying a yellow card. This puts them at risk of missing the semi-final if they receive another booking in the next round.

Among those on thin ice are Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi, France and Bayern Munich's Michael Olise, Norway’s Antonio Nusa of RB Leipzig, and England midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Yellow cards given before the knockout stage were wiped clean ahead of the round of 32, with bookings set to reset once more after the quarter-finals.

In the round of 16, only one player was sent off. England's defender Jarell Quansah received a red card against Mexico and will miss his team's quarter-final clash with Norway.
