PSG Pursues Jonathan David as Juventus Situation Escalates
Paris Saint-Germain’s search for extra firepower has taken an unexpected turn, with the French champions now exploring a move for Juventus striker Jonathan David.
The Canadian forward has been pushed to the fringes in Turin. Juventus have made it clear: if he wants to play this season, it will not be in black and white. He is not part of the manager’s plans and, in the club’s eyes, has fallen short of the required level.
David, though, is not backing down.
Given chances to make Spalletti’s system work for him, he has failed to convince. Yet he remains stubbornly committed to staying put and fighting for his place. Juventus, convinced that battle is already lost, would rather cut ties now and bring in a new attacker who can immediately lift their frontline.
PSG step into the picture
Interest from Europe’s elite has been lukewarm. Few top-league clubs have come forward, and David is not keen on dropping outside that bracket.
That is where PSG enter.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Ligue 1 giants have registered an interest in the striker. A key figure behind that is Luis Campos. The PSG director knows David well from their time together at Lille and sees him as a fit for Luis Enrique’s squad. That existing relationship could be the thread that pulls a deal together.
For Juventus, David’s situation is becoming a headache. The club want him out to free space and resources for a new forward. The player wants to stay and prove himself. Two opposing stances, one shrinking transfer window.
Wage demands threaten to derail move
Just as a potential solution appears on the table, another obstacle looms: money.
PSG, the report claims, consider David’s current salary too high. Those wage demands could be enough to kill the move before serious negotiations even start. If the numbers do not come down, the French champions are prepared to walk away.
That would leave Juventus right back where they started – with a striker they no longer believe in, occupying a place they desperately want to hand to someone else. The Bianconeri need that spot, and that budget, to reshape their attack before the deadline.
For David, PSG would offer a powerful escape route: a return to a league he knows, a reunion with Campos, and a fresh stage under Luis Enrique. For now, though, his determination to stay in Turin and PSG’s concern over his wages keep everything stuck in limbo.
The clock is ticking. Someone will have to give ground – the club, the player, or the suitor – or this standoff will define Juventus’ attacking options for the rest of the season.
