Premier League Transfer Spending and Net Spend Overview for Summer 2026

The Premier League summer transfer window of 2026 is open, and clubs have already spent over £1 billion with weeks remaining before the deadline. Tottenham Hotspur lead the spending charts, investing nearly £230 million to leave their relegation worries behind.

Among Tottenham's major signings are Sandro Tonali for £92.5 million, Mateus Fernandes at £85 million, and Jan Paul van Hecke costing £52 million, plus several free transfers. Some of these moves have also weakened their league rivals.

Manchester City made the most expensive single signing so far, paying Nottingham Forest £116 million for Elliot Anderson, who impressed for England in the World Cup.

Brighton and Hove Albion have spent over £100 million too, but part of that involves a near swap deal with Tottenham: selling Van Hecke for £52 million and bringing Luka Vuskovic from Spurs for £50 million.

On the other side, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle United have earned more than £100 million from player sales. Chelsea parted ways with Marc Cucurella and Andrey Santos, the latter joining Manchester United for over £50 million.
