Premier League Midfielder Shares Ambition to Join Real Madrid
Real Madrid is expected to pursue a new midfielder in 2027. The club’s inability to secure a key signing during the summer has already caused issues, with Jose Mourinho's squad frequently losing control in matches. This situation has prompted the club to plan for strengthening their midfield options.
Missed Opportunities and New Targets
Earlier attempts to sign Enzo Fernandez and Rodri fell through; Madrid couldn’t meet the asking price for Fernandez, while Barcelona secured Rodri. Despite these setbacks, the club is now considering other candidates, including a player once part of their ranks.
Chema Andres: A Familiar Name on Real Madrid’s Radar
Chema Andres, who departed Real Madrid for Stuttgart in summer 2025, impressed during his time in Germany before moving to Brighton. He has adapted well in the Premier League and recently expressed to Diario AS that returning to the Bernabeu remains a dream, though it’s not an immediate focus.
Andres said: "Real Madrid? I hope to come back in the future, but I’m not thinking about it right now."
Challenges Ahead for Real Madrid to Re-Sign Andres
If Madrid decides to pursue Andres again, the process won’t be straightforward. After losing all influence over his career when he transferred from Stuttgart to Brighton, they would face the full market price. Brighton is known for holding firm on their top players, making any deal potentially complicated.
For now, Real Madrid will keep monitoring Andres’ performances at Brighton. Should he continue to shine, it’s likely his name will feature among their transfer considerations next summer.
