Premier League Managers at Risk of Being Dismissed During International Break

The first international break of the season has arrived, with players traveling worldwide to play for their countries. Premier League matches will not continue until October 10th, but some managers might not get a break from pressure as rumors swirl about potential sackings.

Here are several Premier League managers whose jobs could be in jeopardy before league action resumes.

Roberto De Zerbi - Tottenham Hotspur

It wouldn’t shock many if Roberto De Zerbi were dismissed during this pause. Spurs currently sit at the bottom of the league after three losses and two draws in their first five games. Expectations were high given they spent over £300 million on signings such as Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Savio, and Jan Paul van Hecke. The hefty payout for terminating his five-year contract signed just months ago in April might be the only thing keeping him in place.

Michael Carrick - Manchester United

Michael Carrick showed promise when he took over as interim head coach in January, sparking notable improvement. Yet, since being made permanent manager, results have worsened drastically. United find themselves in the league's lower half with only five points from five games, including losses to Hull City and rivals Manchester City. The club’s leadership remains supportive for now but may face tough choices if performance doesn't turn around quickly.

Alvaro Arbeloa - Fulham

Alvaro Arbeloa started the season poorly with Fulham losing their first three league fixtures. There has been some progress, managing draws against Liverpool and Manchester United. Arbeloa brought in three familiar players from Castilla during the summer transfer window, which reportedly hasn’t sat well within the squad. If reports of internal rifts hold true, additional poor results could seal his fate.

Frank Lampard - Coventry City

After guiding Coventry City back to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years by winning the Championship, Frank Lampard faces a tough challenge. Despite a recent win over Nottingham Forest, Coventry remain in the relegation zone after losing four of their first five games. Lampard enjoys strong support from fans, but that can quickly shift if the team's form doesn’t improve.
