On social media, Gavi posted two photos that tell a story of dedication and growth. One shows him as a child playing for La Liara Balompie in his hometown, while the other captures him tenderly kissing the FIFA World Cup trophy after Spain’s historic win.

“May no one wake me from this dream – the dream of a boy from Los Palacios who dreamed of winning the World Cup with his country…”

He also touched on the challenges he faced, including injuries during his youth career. Despite these hurdles, every struggle felt worthwhile as he celebrated becoming a World Cup winner at such a young age.

Gratitude Towards Those Who Shaped His Career

Gavi expressed deep thanks to the many individuals who supported his journey. He began by acknowledging Real Betis, the club where his football adventure started. Then he reserved special praise for FC Barcelona and their famed academy La Masia, crediting them with shaping both his skills and character.

“I owe a great deal to everyone at La Masia who welcomed me from day one, and to the coaches and staff at FC Barcelona, who helped me grow as a footballer and as a person, and enabled me to become a world champion,” he wrote.

Additionally, Gavi gave a heartfelt nod to his grandmother for providing “that extra strength you gave me over the last few months.”

Although not always in the starting lineup during the World Cup, Gavi contributed when called upon by Spain’s manager Luis de la Fuente. Across the competition, he logged 76 minutes, including a start against Cape Verde and a late substitute appearance in the knockout round victory over Austria.
