Transfer Roundup: Liverpool Teen Loan, Ipswich Land Diop, Willock Linked with Besiktas

Amara Nallo, a 19-year-old defender at Liverpool, looks ready to leave on loan to Finnish club HJK Helsinki. Nallo has been with the Reds since moving from West Ham United three years ago. His early career was marked by a couple of red cards, including one on his debut against PSV Eindhoven in the 2024-25 Champions League and another against Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup last season. He made just one Liverpool first-team appearance without a sending off, during a 6-0 Champions League victory over Qarabag in January.

Despite the departure of Ibrahima Konate, chances for Nallo to break into Liverpool’s first team next season seemed slim, so a temporary move seems sensible. Journalist Eetu Ikola reported the impending loan, and Nallo has already appeared on HJK's UEFA squad list as they prepare for their UEFA Conference League qualifying match against Coleraine. It remains unclear if the loan includes an option or obligation to buy, with Nallo still under contract at Liverpool for two more seasons.

Issa Diop Joins Ipswich Town on Permanent Deal

Ipswich Town have secured Issa Diop from Fulham on a four-year contract. The 29-year-old centre-back spent four years at Craven Cottage, making 96 appearances and scoring three goals. However, he struggled to claim a regular starting spot behind Calvin Bassey and Joachim Andersen, featuring only 13 times in the Premier League last season, eight of those from kickoff.

Diop, who previously played for West Ham United, also made headlines during Morocco's run to the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, scoring a late equalizer in the knockout stage win over the Netherlands. Ipswich reportedly paid around £8.6 million for the transfer. Speaking after the move, Diop said, "I'm excited to take the next step in my career at Ipswich Town. I know how big the club is and have enjoyed all of the conversations I have had before making the move. I know this is the right place for me."

Besiktas Shows Interest in Joe Willock

Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock is attracting serious interest from Turkish side Besiktas. The 26-year-old struggled for consistent starts last season due to competition from Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes, and Joelinton but made 39 appearances across all competitions. With just one year left on his contract and no renewal expected, Newcastle seems prepared to let him go.

According to journalist Luke Edwards, Besiktas are actively trying to bring Willock to the Turkish Super Lig. Negotiations over a transfer fee are underway. Willock originally joined Newcastle from Arsenal in 2021 for £25.1 million following an impressive loan spell. He scored in seven consecutive Premier League matches during the 2020-21 season and has tallied 19 goals and 11 assists in 182 appearances for Newcastle.

Fulham Pursuing Real Madrid Forward Gonzalo Garcia

Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa is keen to reunite with Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia. Talks between the clubs have started for the 22-year-old attacker, who impressed at the 2025 Club World Cup with four goals and one assist in six games. Despite that, Garcia found playing time limited last season, managing eight goals and three assists in 39 appearances.

Garcia’s contract runs until 2030 after an extension signed last summer. New Madrid coach Jose Mourinho supports the player's potential but cannot promise regular minutes. Real Madrid reportedly wants some form of future control over Garcia’s next transfer, such as a buyback clause, first refusal, or a percentage of any future sale. Arbeloa is actively involved in the negotiations, aiming to bolster Fulham's attacking options.
