Didier Deschamps Confirms Kylian Mbappe Fit for France's World Cup Semi-Final Against Spain

Didier Deschamps has put to rest doubts about Kylian Mbappe's fitness before France's World Cup semi-final clash with Spain. Despite earlier concerns over a minor ankle injury, the France captain is set to play after training separately for part of the session as part of his recovery.

Mbappe’s Ankle Issue and Training Update

Mbappe was taken off in the 77th minute during France's 2-0 victory over Morocco due to an ankle problem he described as minor. Speculation grew when he practiced apart from the main squad on Monday, and reports indicated he was still feeling some discomfort. Still, Deschamps stressed there was no setback in his condition and emphasized that the limited training time was a precautionary measure rather than a sign of worsening injury.

"He feels good," Deschamps told The Athletic. "He has the right, like others, to go 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes on a drill."

France Gain Momentum With Key Players Returning

Mbappe enters the semi-final with eight goals in the tournament, leading the Golden Boot race ahead of Argentina's Lionel Messi on assists. His presence is a huge advantage as France prepares to face a possession-heavy Spanish side.

Another positive for France is the potential return of Tchouameni in midfield after missing recent matches. Deschamps commented on Tchouameni’s recovery, acknowledging that while not fully healed, he is now available to play.

"Even though he was on the bench for the last game, the risk was still high. He's better today. I'm not going to say he has been 100 percent cured. He's now available," Deschamps said.

Focus Shifts to Spain Semi-Final

With both Mbappe and Tchouameni expected to be fit, France looks more prepared for one of the toughest challenges in the tournament. Their coach remains optimistic as they turn their attention fully to the upcoming showdown against Spain.
