Curtis Jones Leaves Liverpool for Inter Milan

Curtis Jones has drawn a line under 16 years at Liverpool, sealing a move to Inter Milan and closing a chapter that began when he first walked into the academy as a boy with a dream.

The 25-year-old midfielder leaves Anfield in a deal worth around £30m, departing as a six-time major trophy winner with more than 200 senior appearances and 22 goals to his name. Two Premier League titles sit in his collection, evidence of how deeply he has been woven into one of the club’s most successful modern eras.

For Jones, this is not just a transfer. It is a life uprooted.

He marked the move with a raw, emotional message to supporters on social media, framing his goodbye through the lens of the teenager who once turned up at Kirkby hoping simply to make it.

“After 16 years, it's time to say goodbye,” he wrote. “I came here as a kid with a dream of playing for Liverpool, and I've been lucky enough to actually live that dream.”

He underlined just how long the club has been his world.

“This club is all I've ever known. I came here as a kid and I'm leaving as a man with a family of my own, which probably puts into perspective just how much of my life I've spent here.”

Across those years he ticked off almost every milestone a homegrown player could want. Debut. Goals in front of the Kop. Trophies. And, away from the pitch, the biggest change of all.

“So much has happened during my time here, both on and off the pitch. I've made my debut, won trophies, made memories I'll never forget, and I've become a dad.

“Having my daughter while I've been here makes it even more special because Liverpool isn't just part of my story anymore, it's part of my family's story too.”

Jones’ message stretched well beyond a simple farewell. He moved through the people who shaped him – academy coaches who first spotted the talent, staff who guided him through the jump to the first team, and the figures behind the scenes at Anfield who rarely see their names in headlines but keep the club moving.

He reserved a special line for those he shared the dressing room with.

“To all the lads I've shared a dressing room with over the years, thank you. I've played with some unbelievable players and made friendships I know I'll have for life.”

Then came the supporters. The ones who watched him rise from academy prospect to first-team regular, who rode out the dips with him and celebrated the surges.

“Thank you to the fans that stuck by me and always supported me. I will always be one of you.”

The move to Inter Milan pulls him into a very different footballing world – a new league, a new language, a new culture – but he made it clear that this next step does not dilute what Liverpool means to him.

“Now it's time for a new challenge and a new chapter for me and my family, and I'm excited for what's ahead.

“But Liverpool will always be a massive part of me. I came here as a kid with a dream and I'm leaving having lived it.

“So genuinely, to everyone who has played any part in my 16 years here, thank you. I'll never forget it.

“YNWA.”

From boyhood hopeful to title-winning midfielder, Jones leaves with his dream fulfilled and a new one beginning in Milan.
