Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool Target Boca Starlet Tomas Aranda

Chelsea are weighing up a summer move for 19-year-old Boca Juniors playmaker Tomas Aranda, with Arsenal and Liverpool among a growing list of European heavyweights tracking the Argentine, according to El Intransigente.

The teenager, one of the latest products off Boca’s production line, is protected by a $20 million release clause, a figure that has not scared off a queue of admirers. Bayer Leverkusen, Como, Corinthians, City Football Group, Inter Milan, Parma and Sao Paulo FC have all been credited with interest as the race for his signature gathers pace.

Boca’s new creator

Born in Ciudadela, Aranda has climbed through the Boca Juniors system to force his way into the first-team squad at the Alberto J. Armando Stadium. This season has been his true breakthrough: over 2,000 minutes on the pitch, 32 senior appearances, two goals and three assists.

Those numbers only tell part of the story. His performances have been convincing enough to earn him a debut for La Albiceleste and to mark him out as one of the most intriguing young playmakers in South America. Comfortable between the lines, sharp in tight spaces, he has quickly become a focal point in Boca’s attacking structure.

European scouts have taken note. Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool now sit among the most serious contenders, with the release clause providing a clear price for any club willing to move decisively.

Chelsea’s South American push

Chelsea’s interest fits a clear pattern. The London club have turned aggressively towards the South American market in recent windows, stockpiling young talent and betting on upside. Some recruits have struggled to find a pathway in a bloated squad; a few, like Estevao, have begun to justify the strategy.

Aranda is viewed as another player who could thrive in that kind of long-term project, developing within a structured plan rather than being thrown in without support. His technical profile and creativity mark him out as the sort of midfielder Chelsea’s hierarchy has targeted as they try to build a younger, more dynamic core.

Arsenal’s creative rethink

Arsenal’s pursuit is rooted in need as much as opportunity. Martin Odegaard has battled fitness issues across the last two seasons, disrupting Mikel Arteta’s rhythm in the final third. Eberechi Eze’s first campaign has not yet delivered the expected spark.

That has pushed the club back into the market for a versatile creator. After missing out on Morgan Rogers, Arsenal are again searching for a long-term solution who can operate across the attacking midfield line. Aranda fits that brief: young, technically gifted, and capable of growing into a central role rather than demanding it on day one.

Liverpool’s different dilemma

Liverpool’s situation is more complex. Under Andoni Iraola, the squad already carries established playmakers, and the central creative lanes are crowded. Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai offer quality and depth in those roles.

Aranda can operate from the left, which gives him another route into a Premier League side, but Liverpool’s more pressing need lies in a specialist winger rather than another hybrid playmaker. Any move from Anfield would require a clear plan for his development and minutes, not just a speculative addition.

For now, the picture is clear: Boca Juniors hold a $20 million talent, Europe is circling, and Tomas Aranda stands on the edge of a decision that could define the next decade of his career.
