Champions League 2026/27 Draw: Schedule, Seedings & Broadcast Details

The draw for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League 'League Phase' is set for Thursday, August 27, 2026, kicking off at 5pm BST (12 noon ET). The event will take place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

Hosting duties will be handled by Reshmin Chowdhury, alongside UEFA deputy secretary general Giorgio Marchetti and former UEFA communications director Pedro Pinto. UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin will also speak during the proceedings.

Seeding Pots for the 2026/27 Champions League Draw

A total of 36 teams will be split into four seeded pots based on their five-year UEFA club coefficients. Last season's winner, Paris Saint-Germain, is automatically placed in Pot 1. Each team will face two opponents from each pot but cannot play against clubs from their own country during the league phase.

  • Pot 1: Paris Saint-Germain (France), Bayern Munich (Germany), Real Madrid (Spain), Liverpool (England), Inter Milan (Italy), Manchester City (England), Arsenal (England), Barcelona (Spain), Atlético Madrid (Spain)
  • Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Roma (Italy), Sporting (Portugal), Aston Villa (England), Porto (Portugal), Manchester United (England), Club Brugge (Belgium), Real Betis (Spain), PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands)
  • Pot 3: Feyenoord (Netherlands), Lille (France), Bodo/Glimt (Norway), Napoli (Italy), RB Leipzig (Germany), Villarreal (Spain), Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), Galatasaray (Turkey), Fenerbahçe (Turkey)
  • Pot 4: Slavia Prague (Czech Republic), VfB Stuttgart (Germany), LASK (Austria), Como (Italy), Lens (France), Sabah (Azerbaijan), Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia), AEK Athens (Greece), Viking (Norway)

Draw Procedure Explained

Teams from Pot 1 will be drawn to face two teams from each of the other pots. They will play one match at home and one away. This process repeats for Pots 2, 3, and 4, matching teams accordingly. Clubs from the same nation cannot be paired, so Real Madrid won’t meet Real Betis at this stage.

Additionally, a new UEFA rule prevents any fixture between the same two teams from repeating at the same venue for three consecutive seasons. For instance, if Arsenal and Inter Milan are drawn together, they can't play at San Siro again if that happened in the previous two seasons.
