Arsenal Investigate Yan Diomande as Alternative After Losing Morgan Rogers

Arsenal has swiftly shifted focus after missing out on one of their main targets this summer. With Morgan Rogers sealing a move to Chelsea, the Gunners are now exploring other options to boost speed and creativity in Mikel Arteta's attack.

The spotlight has turned to Yan Diomande, the promising winger from RB Leipzig known for his versatility and pace.

Early Enquiry Made for Diomande

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal has submitted an exploratory enquiry regarding Diomande. This initial interest remains informal, with no official talks underway yet.

Paris Saint-Germain already seem ahead in the race, having secured a five-year contract agreement with the Ivorian player. Leipzig hopes Diomande either renews his contract or stays another season in Germany, placing his value at around £105 million (€120 million).

Though able to play across the front line, Diomande prefers the right wing, where he expects more playing time.

Challenges Ahead for Arsenal’s Pursuit

From Arsenal’s viewpoint, this move feels like due diligence rather than a serious transfer battle. The major hurdle is Diomande himself, who appears set on joining PSG given the personal terms already agreed upon.

His preferred position on the right wing also contrasts with Arsenal’s more urgent need on the left side, especially following the failure to sign Morgan Rogers.

Despite this, Arsenal may still want to keep an eye on Diomande's potential. Leipzig's sporting director Marcel Schafer once described him as possessing "outstanding speed, dribbling skills, strong athleticism, and finishing ability." Yet all signs point to PSG as the likely destination.

Unless the PSG deal collapses or Diomande changes his mind dramatically, Arsenal might find it smarter to concentrate on left-sided players who better fit Arteta’s current tactical needs.
