Bruno Fernandes led Europe in assists last season, but who is stepping up this time? Although the campaign has just begun, here’s a look at the players topping the assist charts across the continent's top five leagues: the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1. All five leagues have representation in this early top 10.

We’re focusing only on league assists. When players share the same number of assists, the one with fewer minutes played ranks higher due to a better assist ratio.

Top 10 Assist Leaders

10. Evanilson – 3 assists: He has tripled his assist count compared to last Premier League season, despite yet to score. His assists came against Manchester City, Everton, and Brentford, though Bournemouth still seek their first win this year.

9. Cody Gakpo – 3 assists: All his assists at Liverpool have found the same teammate, Alexander Isak. Two assists came in one match during a victory over Ipswich. Gakpo’s performance silenced doubts about his future after summer speculation.

8. Dani Olmo – 3 assists: Mostly coming off the bench in La Liga, Olmo has made an impact with three assists in six games. Barcelona boasts several attacking stars; Raphinha leads the major leagues in goals and also has three assists but falls outside the top 10 due to minutes played.

7. Matthias Ginter – 3 assists: A defender making the list is surprising. Ginter has assisted three times in three Bundesliga matches, including two in Freiburg’s 5-0 rout of Borussia Monchengladbach.
