Strasbourg Signs Chelsea Attacker Omari Kellyman

Strasbourg have completed the permanent signing of Chelsea attacker Omari Kellyman, in the latest move linking the two clubs under their shared BlueCo ownership.

The 20-year-old leaves Stamford Bridge just a year after arriving from Aston Villa for £19m in 2024. His time in west London never really started: a run of hamstring injuries stalled his progress and he failed to make a first-team appearance for Chelsea.

The deal to take him to Ligue 1 is permanent and includes a buyback clause, underlining Chelsea’s belief that Kellyman’s development in France could yet bring him back to the Premier League. It is also the 20th transfer between the two clubs since BlueCo took control of both, a pipeline that shows no sign of slowing.

This move is expected to be the first of three between Chelsea and Strasbourg this week. Striker Deivid Washington is also set to join the French side in a similar arrangement, while either midfielder Dario Essugo or winger Mykhailo Mudryk could follow on loan.

For Strasbourg, Kellyman offers a high-upside attacking option and a chance to benefit from Chelsea’s stockpiled talent. For Chelsea, it is another example of the multi-club model in action – and a reminder that even those who never play a minute at Stamford Bridge can still be part of the long-term plan.
