San Diego FC Signs Veteran Striker Cedric for Attacking Rebuild

San Diego FC have moved for proven firepower, unveiling veteran striker Cedric as the latest piece in their attacking rebuild.

Sporting director Tyler Heaps did not hide his excitement in the club’s announcement, hailing the Congolese forward as a standard-setter for the project.

“Cedric brings an incredible level of experience and proven quality to San Diego FC,” Heaps said, framing the deal as a statement of intent. He stressed the calibre of the signing, pointing straight to the striker’s body of work at the top of the game: “He has built an outstanding career competing at the highest levels in Europe and internationally, and his ability to consistently find the back of the net has been a defining part of his game. He understands what it takes to perform on the biggest stages and brings a winning mentality that will be extremely valuable to our group.”

Cedric arrives with a career that speaks loudly enough on its own. Since breaking through at Sochaux, the DR Congo international has compiled 191 goals and 49 assists across 492 club appearances, a haul built in demanding environments at Villarreal, Marseille, Olympiacos, and Galatasaray.

On the international stage, he has been just as central. For DR Congo, the striker has scored 21 goals in 72 caps and featured in four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, giving San Diego FC a player accustomed to pressure, travel, and knockout tension.

His signing drops a heavyweight profile into an already intriguing frontline. San Diego FC can now field a strike force featuring Anders Dreyer, Marcus Ingvartsen, and fellow 2026 World Cup forward Elias Achouri alongside their new arrival.
