Ruben Amorim's Last-Minute Changes for Milan vs Lazio

Ruben Amorim has ripped up his original plan at the last moment.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Milan coach has decided to leave Yunus Musah on the bench for today’s Serie A clash with Lazio, handing the midfield keys to Adrien Rabiot and pushing Ruben Loftus-Cheek into a more advanced role.

Musah had been widely tipped to start alongside Luka Modric in a two-man engine room, a blend of legs and experience at the heart of Milan’s system. Instead, Rabiot will line up in central midfield, with Loftus-Cheek operating as the attacking midfielder behind the striker.

The rest of the XI stays untouched. Pervis Estupiñán keeps his place as left wing-back, while Samuel Chukwueze returns on the opposite flank, restoring natural width and direct running on both sides.

Italy starlet Alphadjo Cissé will join Loftus-Cheek as the other attacking midfielder, tasked with linking play and breaking Lazio’s lines, as Gonçalo Ramos leads the line as the Rossoneri’s lone centre-forward.

On the bench, Christian Pulisic waits again. The American winger will not start, but Amorim has already promised he will finally see his first minutes of the season today. How long he has to watch before being unleashed could say plenty about how this Milan project intends to evolve.
