Real Madrid Set to Secure Arda Güler's Long-Term Future

Real Madrid are closing in on tying down one of their brightest stars for the long haul.

After Spanish outlet AS revealed on Thursday that talks were moving in the right direction, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano went a step further a few hours later: according to his information, Real Madrid have fully agreed all details of a new contract with Arda Güler’s camp.

The deal is expected to run at least until 2031. Romano even reports it could stretch to 2032. If that timeline is confirmed, the 21-year-old would join an exclusive bracket inside the dressing room. Only summer signing Yan Diomande, brought in for a hefty €125 million and tied down until 2033, would be contracted to the club for longer.

For Güler, the imminent signature is more than paperwork. It is a statement. When he arrived from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023, his original contract ran until 2029. Barely a year later, Madrid are already moving to lock him in for most of the next decade. That doesn’t happen by accident at this club.

Back then, Real Madrid paid €28 million to prise him away from Istanbul. Any doubts about that outlay have disappeared. His market value has soared to around €90 million, making the left-footed playmaker the most valuable Turkish footballer by some distance.

The new contract will also recognise that rise in status on his payslip. Güler’s previous salary, reported at around €5 million per year, is expected to jump significantly under the fresh terms, reflecting his growing importance in a squad packed with stars.

He has earned it on the pitch. Step by step, the youngster has gone from promising signing to near ever-present. Last season he produced 20 goal involvements across 51 competitive matches, gradually forcing his way into the starting XI and shedding the “prospect” label.

This campaign, under new head coach Jose Mourinho, he has wasted no time underlining his case again. Güler has started three of the first four league games and delivered the same ruthless output each time: one goal, one assist.

Only a suspension, carried over from a red card in last season’s Champions League, kept him out of the 2-1 win against Inter Milan.

Once that ban is served, he will return not just as one of Madrid’s most exciting talents, but as a cornerstone the club intend to build around for years to come.
