RB Leipzig Pursue Matias Fernandez-Pardo Amid Transfer Window

RB Leipzig are ramping up their late-window business and have set their sights firmly on Matias Fernandez-Pardo.

According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga club have reached an agreement on personal terms with the Belgium international, clearing a major hurdle in the deal. The talks have now moved to club level, where Leipzig are pushing to get it over the line before the deadline bites.

Leipzig are reported to have tabled an offer worth around €32–33 million, including what are described as realistic bonuses, to prise the 21-year-old striker away from Lille. It’s a fee that underlines how highly they rate a player who is still at the start of his senior career.

Fernandez-Pardo’s numbers are modest at first glance — 12 goals and 11 assists in 71 games for Lille — but they hint at a forward who can both finish and create, a profile that fits neatly into Leipzig’s high-tempo, interchangeable front line.

And this is not the only move on their board.

The German side are also closing in on a loan deal for Christopher Nkunku from AC Milan, a potential reunion that would instantly sharpen their attacking edge. If both transfers fall into place, Leipzig’s frontline could look very different by the time the window slams shut — and so could the balance of power near the top of the Bundesliga.
